General Discussion / World of Tanks Xbox 360 Beta Key Giveaway
« on: September 26, 2013, 03:43:18 pm »
One of the companies I work for is doing a beta key giveaway.  This one requires forum participation for the chance to win one of three keys.  The next contest will have 10 keys available.

So far no one has entered the contest, so if you're interested in getting a beta key for World of Tanks on the Xbox 360, go here and answer the questions: http://forum.videogamescoreboard.com/threads/video-game-scoreboard-world-of-tanks-xbox-beta-key-contest-1.977/#post-1599

General Discussion / Tis the season to give...Operation Christmas Kong
« on: December 15, 2010, 04:56:15 pm »
Something about Christmas brings out the good in all of us, encouraging us to help others that are less fortunate than others. Sometimes, we are the ones that receive the help.

This year, EOGamer.com, Girlgamer.net, Hard4Games.com, ObsoleteGamer.com, UOForums.com, and UOHomeDecor.com are reaching out to you to give to a family in need.

Imagine losing everything you had in a fire. Imagine the Christmas tree, presents, keepsakes, mementos, clothes, gone a little more than a week before Christmas. Your five member family made it out of the home with their lives and only the clothes on their back. This is what happened to the Conley Family of Flint, Mich., this past weekend.

Their 4-year-old son, Rylee, lost his Nintendo 64 and Donkey Kong game in the fire, a game he absolutely loved playing with his family.

Seeing as it’s Christmas, those of us at the sites listed in this article want to reach out and help this family and provide them with a gift for their son. So our sites have teamed up in an effort to reach out to our readers during Christmas time to acquire the following items for the family before Christmas:

    * Limited Edition Wii (The 25th Edition Red One)
    * Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Wii
    * 3 Wiimote + Chuk bundles
    * Wii Charge Station Quad

Our goal: To raise at minimum $500 before Dec. 22 to purchase and deliver these items before Christmas to this family.

Complete Details can be found here: Girlgamer.net

Updates will also be posted in the blog section, which includes pictures of the house fire as well as a photo of the fire report (for those who are skeptics).

To make a donation, information is found here: Operation Christmas Kong: Help A Family In Need « Girlgamer.net

Please note, no one is expected to give, or required to give, I'm just posting this here for those who might be interested in something like this for the season to be able to provide help for the family or for the effort.

Thanks in advance to those who can afford to help and do.

General Discussion / Ask Kayhynn over on EOGamer.com
« on: December 01, 2010, 08:24:49 pm »
Okay as most of you know, I write stuff when I have time over at EOGamer.com

I've decided, after years of thinking of doing it at other sites to finally do an Ask Kay article once a week.

I'll answer 5 gaming related questions each week, prolly on Fridays. This is your opportunity to ask questions that may appear on the site and be answered. So ask your questions in reply to this thread. I'll post a link each week to the article here as well. Questions can be about my gaming history, my take on games, WoW related questions, trivia.... whatever. If I don't have an answer to it, I'll try to find one smile.gif

And, once again, I'll encourage folks who are interested to post over on our forums as well, which are deader than a doornail.

Soooo on your mark...get set....ask.

General Discussion / Left4Dead and Left4Dead 2 on sale at Steam
« on: October 06, 2010, 04:01:00 pm »
Not sure how long the sale is going on, but the combo pack is less than $11.  Left4Dead 2 is $6.79 on steam.

If you like zombies and FPS, this game is for you.  I'm downloading both cuz they're cheap heh.

General Discussion / Vindictus: Anyone interested?
« on: September 14, 2010, 03:19:56 am »
Is anyone in the Watch interested in playing Vindictus?  It's a free to play game by Nexon which has received rave reviews.

We're following it pretty closely at EOGamer and we have 100 beta keys to give away.

http://vindictus.eogamer.com/node/150

If you're interested, I still gotta make the watch go through the system, but post a reply and chances are you'll get in.  We've been told we will get more keys if we run out.

If you live in the midwest this event is for you.

Taking place in Ottumwa, Iowa, the event will have a Human vs. Zombies non-video game event, Bring Your Own Computer/Console event, a full blown, old style arcade, Gamer of the Year tournament and more.

Tickets are 52.50 for four days with free camping if you choose a camping ticket.  Family tickets are $100 and include 2 adult passes and 2 children under 14 passes.  children 5 and under are free.

3 nights of concerts, a historic display, celebrities, discussion panels and more.

For more information http://www.ivghof.com

So why am I pimping this event?  Well, I'm on the event committee and I think with as many gamers as we have, I'm sure some of our guildies would love to attend!

Let me know if you plan on it and I'll try to meet up with you.

General Discussion / Just because....the car I am trying to buy
« on: May 13, 2010, 07:24:03 pm »
I've had bad luck with cars that I want to buy.  Basically in 24-48 hours, the car I express interest in has sold.
This one has not, but it's out of town, which frustrates me to no end.  They're part of a big dealership and are SUPPOSED to bring it back to Lincoln, but htey haven't done so for two days.

BUt....if you believe in luck...wish me luck on getting the linked vehicle:

This is the first in a series of gaming related articles concerning viruses, hacking and preventative measures that I am doing for EOGmaer.com. The articles will be posted every Monday until the series has been completed.

These articles are targeted for new computer users and old alike.  Whether you are a parent with a kid gaming or downloading materials from the internet, an adult gamer with question about internet security, or an experienced gamer wanting to check out some new things out there, these articles are for you.

http://www.eogamer.com/node/59

Any questions, comments or concerns, feel free to leave them here.

P.S.  I'm posting this here as we have a lot of MMOs, a lot of folks who have been hacked or hit by viruses in the past and figure this series will be useful for my guildies as well.

Cheers.

General Discussion / Faunasphere...really dorky game....really enjoying it
« on: September 24, 2009, 04:53:11 pm »
It's a flash based MMO that I was introduced to at PAX and have found I enjoy it.  A rough summary is your a scientist raising Fauna (aka Alien creatures) to research this alien land.   You can breed them and create aliens with useful or rare traits, design your own "faunasphere" where your fauna live, etc.

It is free to play, but for certain perks you have to pay.

I've been having fun without paying for it.  If anyone is interested, the link is: http://faunasphere.com/

You can add me as a friend by the name of Kayhynn

General Discussion / EOGamer.com's Sci-Fi Month
« on: June 03, 2009, 07:01:24 pm »
For those of you that don't know (and I'm betting that's the majority of you) I've been busy with the formation and news population of a new gaming site, EOGamer.com

We mainly cover Lineage II and Jumpgate, but are slowly branching out.  As part of that branching out, we created sci-fi.eogamer.com dedicated to Sci-Fi titles and Sci-Fi game news.

We dubbed June Sci-Fi month.  So I encourage you guys to read and see what we  have.

Thanks!
