Flotsam and Jetsam / Women's Code of Words
« on: February 08, 2008, 11:03:45 pm »
9 WORDS WOMEN USE

1. Fine:  This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right
and you need to shut up.

2. Five Minutes:  If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour.
Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more
minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

3. Nothing:  This is the calm before the storm.  This means something, and
you should be on your toes.  Arguments that begin with nothing usually end
in fine.

4. Go Ahead:  This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

5. Loud Sigh:  This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often
misunderstood by men.  A loud sigh me ans she thinks you are an idiot and
wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you
about nothing. (Refer back to #3 for the meaning of nothing.)

6. That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can
make to a man.  That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before
deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

7. Thanks:  A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome.

8. Whatever:  Is a women's way of saying #@!* YOU!

9. Don't worry about it, I got it:  Another dangerous statement, meaning
this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is
now doing it herself.  This will later result in a man asking 'What's
wrong?' For the woman's response refer to #3.

*Send this to the men you know, to warn them about arguments they can avoid if they remember the terminology.

*Send this to all the women you know to give them a good laugh, cause they
know it's true.

I would be intrested to see a watch branch here it is a most impressive game from what I saw and the only cost to me of course is buying the software since I have a Station Pass account.

However I would need someone to head up the watch here for a bit since the lions share of my time at the moment is in Lord of the Rings Online. I know that Moordoom is mostly in WOW so thoughts? Can we get 4 to 6 watchers here that will work on the guild and perhaps set it up?

Ceredwin's Cauldron / The refrigerator test
« on: January 13, 2008, 12:52:40 am »

You will be asked four questions and you must rely on your common sense to answer them correctly.
According to Andersen consulting worldwide, around 90% of the professionals they tested got all of the questions wrong. But many pre-school children got several correct answers. Andersen consulting says this conclusively disproves the theory that most professionals have the brains of a four year old.

Q1. How do you put a giraffe into a refrigerator?

Correct Answer

Open the refrigerator, put in the giraffe and close the door.

This question tests whether you tend to do simple things in an overly complicated way.

Q2. How do you put an elephant into a refrigerator?

Wrong Answer:

Open the refrigerator, put in the elephant and close the refrigerator.

Correct Answer:

Open the refrigerator, take out the giraffe, put in the elephant and close the door.

This tests your ability to think through the repercussions of your actions.

Q3. The Lion King is hosting an animal conference. All the animals attend, except one. Which animal does not attend?

Correct Answer:

The elephant, since it is still in the refrigerator.

This tests your memory.

Even if you did not answer the first three questions correctly, you still have one more chance to show your abilities.

Q4. There is a river you must cross, but it is inhabited by crocodiles. How do you manage it?

Correct Answer:

You swim across. All of the crocodiles are attending the meeting!

This tests whether you learn quickly from your mistakes.

General Discussion / Re: Pirates of The Burning Sea station pass awns
« on: January 02, 2008, 04:43:27 pm »
Hi,

With all the fuz about the retail pre-order box, I wondered what added value it would bring to me.

To make a long story short: nothing really, however I am interested in joining the pre-boarding party.
So I checked out the digital download. It says one can obtain from station.com. As I was a former SWG player I already have an SOE station account and thought that would be very easy. However, reading the terms and conditions (yes, I actually did) I bumped into the following:

Quote
*Terms & Conditions
30 day subscription included with purchase of final game software for new subscribers only (existing accounts and SOE Station Access accounts are not eligible to receive gameplay included with purchase). Additional, recurring subscription fees apply thereafter. Converting an account to an active, paid, entitled subscription requires a valid credit card or game time card (if available). Internet connection required.
[END QUOTE]

The part that got me confused was "...the final game software for new subscribers only (existing SOE station Access accounts are not eligble to receive gameplay included with purchase)..."

--> what does that mean ? I cannot get the final software ? how do i play then ? not eligible to receive gamplay ? I pay for nothing then ?

Tried contacting SOE but the link for email support for Potbs does not work and since potbs and SOE have some kind of partnership I was hoping someone (FSL maybe ?) could explain me what is implicated here please ?

Because I do not want to pay and receive no game...thats for sure..

Posts: 32  The relevant bit here is the beginning of the sentence:

"30 day subscription included with purchase of final game software for new subscribers only "

Meaning that if you put the game on your Station Access, you won't get the first month of free gameplay you would normally get (if you only subscribed to PotBS). That's a standard clause that applies for all the Station Access games.

To further elaborate on this, there is a difference between a Station Access account and your Station Account.

Station Account: The account that you use to access their games.

Station Access: Play all games in the SOE online library for single montly fee (30 bucks, usually.) This is a feature that you add TO your station account.

Posts: 148  Yes, the Station Access (or Station Pass as it's equally know) are where you pay a monthly fee for ever SOE game.

To give you an example, I already pay for this. I pay £18.99 a month and I get to arse about on any SOE game

Now, to go into exact details of my subscription, my Station Pass comes out on 26th of each month. As this game is going to be included in the Station Pass, I won't get the 30 days free because I'm already paying a base monthly fee for all SOE games anyway.

Do that make sense?

It's because I've already got an overriding subscription that the "30 days free" that I'd get in the box simply don't apply to me.

Posts: 20  In fairness if your an existing SoE customer the access pass is a great deal (until they increase the price) I am in Vanguard and this game is a very nice contrast to it. So Station access it will be for me.

Hmm now that is a good question...

I would have to say the night in NWN that we were respawning in sequance to draw the monsters away so that one of us might have a chance to drink a potion... I think we at least died 30 times or so.
