Ok, when I read these I thought they were just too funny. Not to embarrass anyone or make anyone mad. Just thought it was interesting how they worked out.

Anything Goes / Re: On Failure

Yeah, but that's why it bit so hard. I have done it successfully a BUNCH of times before. I've never failed once at it -- ever. Yet, for some reason, I screwed it up THREE times in a ROW!

Anyway. Drove me a bit batty.

Failure is a door. You can kick it or you can open it and see what's on the other side :-)

When staying at red don't solo it bring a partner. I had a partner at green and that def worked better then me trying to solo it I'm sure. Also, learning when to start whittling down a dragon from 2% to dead takes time. It's hard to keep track of the overall timer, the different dragon timers and then periodically check your own dragons %. It's a dance with death that has really tricky steps until your like... that one OP dude in the alliance..what's his name? Bobby? Barry? Billy?

Next dragon run will be epic I'm sure :-)

Anything Goes / On Failure

Failure is something that we all deal with in our real lives, but failure in the guild really bites at me. Now that I am in a senior officer position, I feel that I have to be infallible and unwavering. Earlier tonight I screwed up Dragonflight three times in a row, the last two times directly because of me not being fast enough or causing enough damage. This really riles me up because I not only wasted 3 Golden Bells to start the event, but I also wasted about 12 people's time (almost 30 mins) for literally nothing.

That really ticked me off, and I just exited the game and shut down TS3 to cool off.

I think it's important that we remind ourselves that failure is not the end of the world. It is good for our lower members to see that officers and leaders are not invincible or infallible; rather, we are as human and flawed as any. We may be good at leading people, but we make mistakes with the rest of them.

However, even keeping this in mind does not lessen the sting of letting people down. Not only my own guild members, but members in our Alliance as well. Failure has always gotten to me, and it always makes me unreasonably angry. Why am I not better than I am? How could this possibly happen? I know I am capable of X, Y or Z but yet it eludes me. Am I really that weak and useless? Of course not, but it still feels that way in the moment. I also struggle with jealousy. When I fail at something after really, really struggling at it, and then someone else does it with ease, it flashes a flame of jealousy inside me that I find difficult to quell. I don't know why I struggle with that so much, but there it is. When I see others succeed, I am very happy and excited for them, yet at the same time I can't help but feel inferior, feel like a fraud and feel as though I should just quit and walk away.

Yet, for some inexplicable reason, I always push on and push harder the next time. Is it the drive to be the best, and to be at the top of the mountain? Maybe. I sure hope it isn't because I like to see others fail. While all humans experience schaudenfreude from time to time, we feel guilty afterwards, which is the sign of our humanity and compassion. So after the heat of the moment passes I always kick mysef and think "Why did I get so upset? Just because I failed and they succeeded, that doesn't reflect on who we are as people."

But I believe that failure just makes success all that much sweeter. The next time I run the event and we massacre that dragon, I will disintegrate him. We will rise over him and grind him into dust. The Royal Black Watch is unstoppable when we work together, and compensate for each others' strengths and weaknesses.

Flotsam and Jetsam / Re: Most Americans are filled with regrets — financial regrets.

My retirement fund got wiped out by the Recession.  Lost 15 years.  Only now is it where it was back in 2000. :(

Interesting Article that can apply to anyone

Fully three in four, in fact, admit they harbor financial regrets, according to a survey of more than 1,000 adults by Bankrate.com.
Their biggest regret: not saving for retirement early enough (nearly one in five Americans put this in the No. 1 spot). What’s more, among those 65 and up, 27% said this was the biggest regret, compared with 17% of those aged 30 to 49.
Indeed, it is costly to wait. A person who starts saving $300 a month for retirement at age 25 (assuming a 5% return on investment) will have about $450,000 saved by age 65, despite only contributing $144,000 into his retirement account. Meanwhile, if that person waits until 35 to save the same amount each month, he will contribute a total of $108,000 toward retirement but only have about $250,000 saved at age 65. “If you don’t start saving early enough, you will start to notice that later,” says Greg McBride, the chief financial analyst for Bankrate.com.

General Discussion / Live Streaming
« Last post by Zhennu on December 02, 2016, 06:27:57 am »
Good morning, afternoon, or evening All!

This Saturday morning starting at 10 am PST, I will be Streaming PlanetSide 2 Live for the first time.  I will be testing the waters to see how this goes and to get feedback from those who watch it (Feedback is only about the streaming not me dying all the time) LoL!  If this goes well,, then I will be streaming all my game play in the games I am into.  I will asked first if I am with a Guildy if streaming is OK with them, before I do it.  If you miss the live stream NP, you can still see the video, I have it saved to the Twitch account.  All you need to do is go to https://www.twitch.tv/ look up Zhennu89 and you should see all my Video's from there!  There is a few reasons why I am doing this, but my main reason is Recruitment and Guild exposer (not in PlanetSide 2, but in other Guild games we are into as a Guild).

I hope to see you on Saturday morning and look forward to your feedback!

Thank you

Intel Core i5-6500 6MB Skylake Quad-Core 3.2 GHz LGA 1151 65W BX80662I56500 Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 530

...

A friend is saying that I should go for the i5-6600K instead of the 6500.  Any real difference in those besides clock speeds?  Price is nearly the same right now on Amazon (though I'm pretty much waiting a little longer before I'm pulling the trigger on purchasing anything, since the prices have dropped already in the last 2 weeks).

I would be playing most games that the Watch supports, plus I'm supposed to be a Games Tester so I need to be a bit more mid-to-top end, though my budget won't afford top end for a while.  Mostly need something mid-grade and upgradeable as the budget allows.
