SPANISH HELP
« on: March 23, 2008, 05:07:52 pm »
I need help from any of our Spanish speaking members, hopefully this will help what happ last night not repeat itself.  Can anyone please translate this into Spanish for me?   Any help will be appreciated.

Do you have your id?

Do you have a receipt?

The cd / movie is opened.  You will not be able to get any type of money back.  You may only exchange / switch it for another cd / movie of the same title.

(the underlined parts would have words that can interchange)

Esto se ha abierto. Usted no puede obtener el dinero de vuelta.
Sólo puede cambiamos por otro del mismo título.

I just skipped the cd/ movie part as you can just point at the item while saying the above.  Alternatively, you could print the phrases out and just show it to them I suppose...

My Spanish isn't great, but this should get the point across.  If anyone has easier ways to say it,or if I've pooched it, feel free.

This is the most polite way to say it, with pronunciation guide included for gringos:

Do you have ID?
¿Tiene identificación?
tea-EH-neh ee-den-tea-fee-caw-SEE-OWN?

Do you have a receipt?
¿Tiene un recibo?
tea-EH-neh OON ray-SEE-bow?

The [CD / video] is opened.
El [CD / video] está abierto.
ell [SAY-DAY / bee-DAY-oh]  ess-TAH  ah-BEE-AIR-toe.

You cannot get any type of money back.
No podrá obtener ningún tipo de reembolso.
Noh poe-DRAW ohb-tay-NAIR neen-GOON TEA-poe DAY rehm-BOWL-sow.

You can only exchange it for another of the same title.
Sólo se podrá cambiar por otro del mismo título.
SO-low SAY poe-DRAW comm-BEE-are pore OAT-row dell MEEZ-moe TEA-too-low.

I hope that helps.
Espero que le ayude.
Ess-PAIR-oh KAY LAY ah-YOU-day.  :)
